Role Overview
The Business Development team is a growth engine at EnergyHub. We are a small entrepreneurial group focused on discovering and validating new market and product opportunities that extend beyond our core business. As Director Business Development you will help drive EnergyHubs expansion into new markets with strong revenue or strategic potential. This is a highly visible prerevenue role where youll identify opportunities early build momentum and help turn promising ideas into real growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Intelligence & Relationships: Build relationships with prospective customers partners and industry leaders. Gather market insights identify emerging trends and unmet needs and translate external signals into clear internal opportunities.
- Strategy & Opportunity Development: Partner with senior leadership and key internal teams to identify shape and prioritize new solution areas aligned with EnergyHubs strengths.
- Subject Matter Leadership: Develop early expertise in new highpotential markets and serve as an internal resource to help teams understand market dynamics customer needs and success factors.
- Business Concept Validation: Act as a catalyst to move new ideas forward. Collaborate crossfunctionally with Product Engineering Product Marketing Partner Solutions and others to assess productmarket fit commercial viability and alignment with gotomarket strategies. When required work independently of these teams to validate the business potential of new idea concepts while still incorporating the viewpoints of other internal EnergyHub teams.
- Market Requirements Definition: Define functional and market requirements for new opportunities working closely with Product and Product Marketing to advocate for whats needed to win in new segments.
- Pipeline & Early Customer Development: Build and manage a pipeline of new opportunities. Leverage your network to open doors to new prospects and help secure early pilot customers partnering with Sales or leading efforts directly when specialized expertise is needed
- Conceiving Pilot Projects: When required coordinate with other EnergyHub teams to conceptualize and launch initial pilots of new business concepts.

- Proactively and independently drive business opportunities close deals and generate recurring revenue in a SaaS environment
- Bring knowledge of grid and utility markets including gridedge technologies such as EE DR storage and EVs
- Assess product fit against customer needs through discovery and qualification of new business opportunities
- Develop marketleading customer engagement propositions (RFIs RFPs) delivery plans and support organizational upskilling
- Take a handson role in legal and pricing negotiations
- Build and sustain strong partner and customer relationships
- Inspire confidence among internal teams and external stakeholders
- Build new initiatives from zero through launch

The base salary range of this opportunity is listed below and is determined within a range based on factors including qualifications location and experience. This allows opportunity for growth and development within the role. The base salary offered is part of a total compensation package.
