LOCATION: Booth Building

HOURS: up to 7.0/day Monday - Friday

SALARY: $38.70 - $40.32

NEW HIRES ARE CONDITIONAL UPON PASSING A FINGERPRINT SCREENING

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must possess an SLPA license from the Washington Department of Health upon start date.
  • Assist with implementing speech and language therapy plans.
  • Assist with conducting screenings and assessments for speech language voice fluency hearing and other related issues.
  • Assist and prepare materials and/or activities.
  • Provide support for Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) during session to include but not limited to therapy services communicating with students administration parents and/or guardians regaring progress and plans.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities.
  • Demonstrated exemplary customer service and responsiveness
  • Must follow supervisory directions and employ personal initiative when necessary
  • Must work within designated bounds of authority and confidentiality
  • Experience in working with students with disabilities or exceptional students
  • Must uphold board policies and follow administrative procedures.
  • Must take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
  • Evidence of ability to assess and correct issues involving safety.
  • Evidence of ability to establish and maintain a tactful cooperative and effective relationship with students parents staff fellow employees and management.
  • Evidence of ability to approach assigned work professionally working toward the common goal of teamwork pride in service delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Must demonstrate sufficient command of the English language to communicate verbally and in writing with students parents district staff members and other concerned people regarding all aspects of their job-related activities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records in appropriate student information system(s).
  • Complete school based medicaid billing as required.
  • Participate in District meetings to communicate information and gain feedback and/or direction on a variety of issues.
  • Assists with supervision of students to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.

NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist other personnel as may be required to support them with the completion of their work activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior job-related experience preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual and/or Biliterate (Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Experience working in a K-12 setting preferred but not required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to establish and maintain professional cooperative working relationships
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff students and patrons.
  • Ability to proficiently read speak and write both Spanish and English.
  • Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures
