Oxford High Schoolis seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Girls Swim Coach to support the development of a competitive and positive swim program. The assistant coach will help foster student-athlete growth in skill development teamwork sportsmanship and personal responsibility while assisting in all aspects of team operations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting daily practices and swim workouts
Provide technical instruction on stroke development starts turns and race strategy
Support supervision of student-athletes during practices meets and team events
Help organize and manage swim meets (home and away) including setup and breakdown
Promote a positive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship accountability and effort
Monitor athlete academic progress and encourage student success in the classroom
Assist with equipment management inventory and facility upkeep
Communicate effectively with athletes parents and school staff
Ensure compliance with school district and athletic association policies
Support safety protocols and respond appropriately to emergencies
Qualifications
Prior experience coaching or competing in swimming (preferred)
Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff and student-athletes
CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Coaching certification per state
Must pass background check and meet district hiring requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working with middle or high school athletes
Compensation
Stipend based on district salary schedule
