Job Summary
About the Positions
We are seekingCEI Inspectors at various levels includingCEI InspectorAidandCEI Inspector Ito provide Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services for transportation projectslocatedin the state of level of the position will be dependent upon the selected finalists background and expertise.
This post is for future roles and not for a specific opportunity that is available right now. We accept applications and conduct interviews in advance of upcoming hiring needs. Training materials will be provided to obtainthe requiredcertifications.

The following responsibilities are examples only and represent an Inspector Aid level finalist. These responsibilities will become increasingly more complex andadditionalduties could be added if an Inspector Ifinalist is selected. Confirmationwill be discussed withselected finalists.
- Will perform a range of routine and standardized work including manual and/or electronic calculations computations and inspections of construction processes and materials toassurecompliance with the construction contract.
- Willinspect truck load tickets for roadway aggregate base course;borrow material and asphaltic concrete at project field sites.
- Willperform a variety of simple materials samplinginspectionand/or testing.
- Will perform contract administrative duties which may include field measurements of pay item quantities project close-out as well as other Department required documentation.
- May berequiredto usea numberofdifferent pieces of equipment such as Slump ConeAir MeterMeasuring Wheel/Tape Thermometer be fully trained in the use of equipment necessary toaccomplishtheir work.
- May berequiredto work at remote sites around construction equipment drilling rigsexplosivesandenvironmentalcontamination.

The following minimum and preferred requirements and certificationsrepresentan Inspector Aid level finalist. There may beadditionalminimum and preferred requirements and certificationsif an Inspector Ifinalist is selected. Confirmationwill be discussed withselected finalists.
MinimumRequirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Generalknowledgeofmathematicalfunctions.
- Skillintheuseofofficeequipmentsuchascalculators.
- Abilitytolearnandinterpretsuchthingsasconstruction plans contract provisions and inspection procedures.
- Must be licensed tooperatemotor vehiclesin accordance withGeorgia Law.
- Proficiencywith computers (e.g. Microsoft Office 365 Microsoft Outlook internet etc.).
Required Certifications
Please Note: For titlescontainingGDOT certifications or passing scores on Engineering Skills Development Tests certifications and passing scores must be obtained within six (6) months of beginning work on the GDOT project. Certifications from other agencies or states maypossibly besubstituted.
- GDOT WECS.
- GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification.
- GSWCC Level 1a (Erosion Control).
- Passing scores on GDOTs Construction Engineering Inspection Training tests Group 1 (General Provisions Auxiliary Items Basic Highway Math Basic Highway Plan Reading).
Compensation Details
ExpectedSalary: $35k-$62k/year ($16-$30/hour).Lusterprovidesthe salary range that the company in good faith believes it might offer for this position based on the level of position offered and the successfulfinalistslevel of experienceknowledge skills abilities education certifications licenses geographic location etc. Luster reserves the right toultimately paymore or less than theposted range depending on circumstances not related to any status protected by local state and/or federal law.
