About the Role

The Facilities and Infrastructure Manager is responsible for the deployment reliability and compliance of the battery swap station network. This role oversees the full infrastructure lifecyclefrom site feasibility and electrical design to installation maintenance and uptime optimizationensuring safe compliant and highly available infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure Deployment & Project Execution

  • Site Feasibility & Surveying: Identify and assess viable sites including power availability and civil requirements
  • Electrical Design & Planning: Develop schematics load calculations protection systems and layouts
  • Project & Contractor Management: Oversee third-party contractors ensuring quality timelines and safety standards
  • Utility & Regulatory Liaison: Act as the technical interface with KPLC and relevant authorities

2. Maintenance & Operational Excellence

  • Uptime & Reliability: Ensure high availability through effective maintenance systems and SLAs
  • Preventive Maintenance: Implement programs to identify and mitigate risks (e.g. overheating cable wear)
  • Facilities Standards: Maintain infrastructure to required standards and ensure timely repairs
  • Safety & Compliance: Act as Engineer-in-Charge ensuring adherence to electrical codes and HSE standards

3. Team Leadership

  • Team Management: Lead and prioritize work for technicians and junior engineers
  • Capability Building: Provide training coaching and continuous skills development
  • Inventory & Asset Control: Manage electrical inventory and critical spares


Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK)
  • Valid EPRA License (minimum Class C1; Class A1 or B preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in electrical project delivery and maintenance
  • Experience in power distribution industrial facilities EV charging or similar infrastructure
  • Proven experience working with KPLC processes within Nairobi
  • Strong understanding of power quality (surges brownouts)
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong organizational problem-solving and multitasking skills
  • Effective leadership and communication skills

Additional Requirement

  • Candidates must clearly indicate their EPRA license class in their application

Required Education:
