Job Summary
One of our top clients a well-established Japanese company undergoing a global digital transformation in construction is seeking an Engineering Manager with strong project management skills. Youll lead engineering teams while stepping in as Project Manager when needed to deliver key initiatives.

Role Overview
As an Engineering Manager you will lead multiple engineering teams and step into a Project Manager role for key projects. Youll ensure both technical excellence and project delivery as the company moves from vendor reliance to in-house capabilities. Youll work closely with global leadership scaling a bilingual engineering organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple engineering teams (internal partners) to ensure high performance
- Act as Project Manager when needed overseeing planning scheduling and delivery
- Ensure alignment between technical teams business stakeholders and vendors
- Foster a strong engineering culture while balancing delivery timelines and people management
- Collaborate with product design and business teams to define technical strategy
- Improve development processes using Agile methodologies

Requirements
- Language Skills: Fluent Japanese and Business-level English
- (Youll work with a business team in Japanese and an engineering team primarily in English)
- Engineering Leadership: Experience managing engineering teams hiring and mentoring
- Technical Background: Solid software development or strong technical literacy (system architecture APIs cloud solutions)
- Project Management: Proven experience in project planning scheduling and stakeholder management; PMP or Scrum Master certification is a plus
- People Management: Track record in mentoring teams and balancing process and well-being
- Agile Development: Hands-on experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban)
Mindset & Culture Fit

- BuildMeasureLearn: Focus on learning cycles over heavy processes
Nice to Have
- Experience in SaaS development or digital product delivery
- Experience with multi-vendor coordination and stakeholder alignment
