About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Workers Compensation Lawyer to join our growing team in our Downtown Los Angeles office. This is a full-time in-office position ideal for an attorney with at least 2 years of experience handling California workers compensation matters. The ideal candidate is confident managing a caseload independently and committed to providing exceptional client advocacy.
Responsibilities
Manage a full caseload of California workers compensation defense or applicant matters from inception through resolution
Represent clients at hearings depositions mediations and trials before the WCAB
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings motions briefs and settlement documents
Evaluate claims for exposure and develop effective case strategies
Communicate regularly with clients opposing counsel claims adjusters and medical providers
Negotiate settlements and attend lien conferences as needed
Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with all applicable deadlines
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Minimum of 2 years of experience handling California workers compensation cases
Strong knowledge of WCAB procedures and California Labor Code
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Strong negotiation and litigation skills
