Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and professional Trails Guide to join a 5-star lodge team. The successful candidate will be the primary link between our guests and the natural world responsible for delivering immersive world-class safari experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guided Safaris: Conduct twice-daily game drives and guided bush walks in the "Big 5" Black Rhino concession and greater Pilanesberg area.
- Guest Hosting: Provide expert interpretive knowledge of local fauna flora and ecosystems while maintaining a sophisticated luxury atmosphere.
- Safety & Ethics: Ensure the highest standards of guest safety vehicle maintenance and conservation ethics.
- Extra Duties: Assist with guest transfers bush coffee/sundowners and basic lodge maintenance as required.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Certification: FGASA Level 1 or 2 (NQF2/NQF4) and valid DEAT/NDT registration.
- Trails Qualification: Full Lead Trails Guide or Close to lead Trails
- Licenses: Valid Drivers License with Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
- Skills: Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH) valid First Aid Level 1 or 2 and strong birding/tracking skills.
- Experience: 23 years of guiding experience in a Big 5 environment.
