Outsourced CFO is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Junior Accounting Consultant (USA) to join our team specifically servicing our American client base.
In this role you wont just be crunching numbers; you will be a vital part of our client service engine.
This is a "bridge" role designed for someone who has completed their articles and is ready to take on more responsibility including mentoring junior trainees while still working under the guidance of our experienced POD Leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Execute full-cycle accounting within QuickBooks Online including bank reconciliations Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable and fixed asset management.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and IRS regulations managing Sales Tax nexus/filings and 1099 reporting.
- Compile accurate monthly Management Reports and Annual Financial Statements tailored for the US market.
- Prepare comprehensive working papers for year-end reviews and federal/state tax readiness.
Client & Team Development
- Engage with US-based clients to build lasting relationships and assist with complex budget preparation and cash flow forecasting.
- Provide on-the-job training for trainees specifically focusing on US accounting nuances and cloud-integrations.
- Ensure all US projects are rolled out monthly and tasks are signed off daily to meet international time-zone deadlines.
Requirements
- Completed SAICA/SAIPA/CIMA articles with a strong interest in international accounting.
- Must be a registered AGA(SA) SAIPA or CIMA member.
- Essential: Proven hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and a solid understanding of US GAAP.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in an accounting environment.
- A proactive problem solver who doesnt just spot a mistake but finds the solution.
- A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and is happy to "jump in" when others need help.
- Excellent time management skills and a high degree of dependability (Friday timesheets are non-negotiable).

Management Reporting: The ability to compile insightful monthly packs that go beyond basic data entry. Accounts Payable/Receivable: managing the full-cycle invoicing and bill payment process for international vendors. Payroll Administration: Specifically focused on US federal and state withholding requirements. Financial Statement Preparation: Handling the compilation of year-end papers and annual reports. Cloud Accounting Software: A broader skill to cover integrations (like Dext or Expensify) often used with QBO.
