Job Summary

Position Summary:

CLS ishiring twoparalegalsupervisorstomanagetheDenverfront deskintake specialistsand CSIparalegals. One manager willsupervisethefront deskintakestaffand a team ofparalegals. Theothermanagerwillsupervise CSI paralegalsand will perform a variety of administrative tasks.Both of thesepositions aremanagement positionsin CLSs Denver Officeandrequire beingin-person and on-site Monday through Fridaytoprovideoversight and supportto staff. Both managers willbe responsible fordeveloping andmaintainingsystems for effective communication managingquality control during the applicant intake processand working together asa team to provide oversight training and support to CSI paralegalsand intake specialists.

Essential Duties:

Both managers willlikely spend50-60%of their time on administrative/supervision related duties. Theremainderof their time will be as CSI paralegal.

Supervision duties include:

  • Assist supervise and monitor CSIparalegalsdailyinscreening interviewing anddeposingcases.
  • Regularly reviewparalegaland intake specialistsworkproduct to ensure high quality service including enteringkey data into Legal Server enteringcase notes reviewingletters sent to applicants or thirdpartiesandensuring accuracy of notesin applicants/clients LScasefiles.
  • Assistwith the revision/development of the CSI Practice Manualand otherwritten guidance.
  • Train new CSIparalegalsandintakestaffandprovide ongoing trainingand supportfor currentparalegalsincludingregular check-ins and six-month performancereviewmeetings.Training and supervisionincludesubjectssuch asintake and office proceduresCLS policies and procedures andtraining related to the substance of intake work.
  • Oversee the front desk staff and intake process to ensure accuracy uniformity efficiency and effective services to applicants and toprovide support byoccasionallystaffing the front desk addressing escalated clientsassistingwith intake determinations and providing resource referrals on a regular basis.
  • Create andmaintainintakestaff resourcesincludingpolicies intake guidelines client resources letter templates and a call logutilizedby intake specialists.
  • Address intake questions and concerns on a regular basis fielding questions from attorneys paralegals and intake specialists.
  • Address CSI personnel team conflict workload or work quality issues by working with the CSI managing attorney and other Senior Leadership members.
  • Verify stafftimeeach pay period andmanagetime off leave and calendaring for staff.
  • Prepare monthly CSIcalendar for CSIParalegalsand Attorneys of the Day a CSI newsletter and other CSImaterials as needed.
  • Conduct andparticipateinstaff meetings to providetraining address staff concernsand provideregularupdates.
  • Assistin providing coverage or supervision for other Denver support staff as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Both managers will alsodoparalegal workincluding:

  • Maintainanunderstanding oftheCLS eligibility guidelines and service areas
  • Demonstrateempathy emotional intelligence and cultural responsivenessduringinformation-gathering conversations with applicants
  • Guide applicants toidentifytheir specific legal issue and share relevant information
  • Refer eligible applicants for legal advice brief services or full representationin accordance withCSI disposition instructions
  • Maintainfamiliarity with various financial resources client services and systems that provide services to clients in the local communities
  • ProvideapplicantsCLS cannot serve with info and referrals to otherappropriateresources.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • BachelorsDegree
  • Three or more years experience working as a paralegal
  • Excellent time management organization and communication skills
  • Ability totake a trauma-informed approach toworkingwith staff applicants and clients from diverse backgrounds ensuring a welcoming and collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work well withcolleagues
  • Demonstrated commitment and sensitivity to those served by CLS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Legal Server CanvaZoomMicrosoft productsand SharePoint software
  • Proficiencyin a language other than English
  • Spanish languageproficiencyis helpful but is notfor this position
  • Some prior managerial experience either managing interns volunteers or staff

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a generous plan that includes 100% employer paid premiums for employee health dental vision life and long-term disability insurance as well as partial employer paid premiums for spouses/dependents based on a sliding scale. CLS contributes $200/month to each employees 403(b) retirement account and matches 100% of employee contributions up to 3% of employee salary; vesting occurs gradually will full vesting after 3 years of employment.
