The organization operates 805 long-term care beds and 308 seniors apartment units with an additional 224 long-term care beds opening in a new home by June 2026. In addition Yee Hong offers four campuses of managed care a hospice residence and a wide range of community-based senior and caregiver support services. Through this comprehensive network the organization serves more than 15000 individuals annually across the Greater Toronto Area.

To support clients who require assistance using Yee Hong transportation services.

Responsibilities:

• Works closely with driver to assist clients with boarding and unboarding vehicle. Performs safety check ensuring seatbelts and assistance devices if any are secured

• Maintains order and safety within the vehicle

• Manages difficult behaviours responds to emergency and reports promptly to the Centre any unusal/special conditions (e.g. clients mood clients health conditions).

• Ensures safe arrangements for clients and follow up actions in accordance with Centres policies and instructions

• Provides assistance to passengers and communicate their needs to the driver

• Supports and assists the driver as required.

• Collects user fees

• Keeps up-to-date with developments and best practices in the field

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school education

• Good customer service and interpersonal skills

• Understanding of proper techniques to assist clients with walking difficulties and by physically able to perform this function

• Ability to work as a team

• Recent satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen result.

• Ability to communicate in English and Chinese

• Required to travel in a moving vehicle for a prolonged period of time.
