Job Description:

We are seeking an Specialist Systems Engineer at our Los Angeles CA (Canoga Park) locationto perform Product Support Engineering tasks on liquid rocket propulsion projects for NASA and the Department of War.

This role will:

  • Perform product support engineering activities and assist as a technical resource from a programs concept and proposal phases through development test production and post-production support phases
  • Serve as the Product Support/Sustainability point of contact for assigned programs and integrate into program and engineering teams
  • Support logistics design influence efforts and activities necessary to meet system performance requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze and interpret technical data (e.g. drawings manuals specifications etc.) to develop technical and logistics data
  • Create/update relevant reports such as task analysis maintenance plans or provisioning requirements reports
  • Perform/develop/update Level of Repair Analysis (LORA)
  • Develop maintenance concepts to ensure the most affordable and effective solution
  • Develop/execute plans for Technical Publications/training materials
  • Plan/execute activities that sustain the operation and maintenance of systems to ensure mission capability
  • Conduct logistics analyses using engineering background analytical skills and knowledge of a wide array of industry tools
  • Perform Human Factors analysis on maintenance and operation activities with Propulsion Test Stand and/or end item
  • Develop/update Packaging Handling Shipping & Transportation (PHS&T) and Demilitarization plans
  • Travel is estimated at 10%

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 8 years of prior related experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience in Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) Maintainability or other logistics related discipline
    • Experience in developing/generating various types of logistics supportability analysis
    • Experience developing LSA products in accordance with MIL-STD-1388 GEIA-STD-0007 or MIL-PRF-49506 in LSA database tools such as EAGLE or PowerLog
    • Previous experience using LSA data to develop either technical data technical publications Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETMs) or training products
  • Understanding of repair level analysis and life cycle cost modeling
  • Experience in developing and delivering Level of Repair Analysis (LORA)
  • Knowledge of analyzing data/trend analysis or databases for tracking spares and inventory
  • Familiarity with military maintenance and sustainment support
  • Engineering design background generating new designs models and drawings
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives that drive change in an organization
  • Experience supporting procurement activities to meet demanding build schedules
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills presentation skills and ability to interface directly with internal program office and external customers
  • Possess active DoD Security Clearance (investigation completed within last 5 years)

In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in California Massachusetts New Jersey Washington and the Greater D.C Denver or NYC areas is $92500 - $171500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
