Job Summary
Roadway Design Engineering Specialist to join our Pennsylvania team. You can be based in Douglassville Pittsburgh Harrisburg or Philadelphia. This position offers excellent potential for career advancement as this individual would assist staff and our other offices who have a direct impact on the improvement of our national infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is an individual who desires to be part of a team displays confidence and possesses an understanding of roadway design principles. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of roadway highway and transit projects contributing to innovative design solutions that meet the highest quality standards budget constraints and project schedules.

Responsibilities include:
Providing professional design services for transportation improvement projects for the PennDOT and local County/City agencies
Develop and refine 3D models alignments profiles corridors cross-sections typical sections superelevation data and miscellaneous roadway detail sheets for transportation projects.
Designing to adhere to ADA Standards
Coordinating with the design team for developing and providing technical direction
Coordinating with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget and the development of specifications cost estimates reports and preparing final bid packages
Assisting with the preparation of technical and cost proposals.
Maintaining relationships with client technical staff and project managers
Attending project meetings with clients sub-consultants and the project team
Stay current with industry trends software advancements and best practices related to OpenRoads applying new knowledge to enhance project outcomes.
Required Skills:
Bachelors degree in civil engineering
Masters degree in civil engineering is a plus
Successful completion of the FE exam preferred.

PennDOT and municipal client experience is a plus
Proficient with MicroStation and Inroads/OpenRoads modeling design software or AutoCAD
OpenRoads Designer experience is a plus
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity with AASHTO and local agency design standards is required.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Professional society membership and involvement is a plus.
Compensation Range:
