ATCS is seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer or Roadway Engineering Project Manager to join our growing Virginia transportation team. This is a hybrid position based in Hampton Roads (Virginia Beach or Newport News) or Glen Allen offering the opportunity to work on high-profile VDOT and municipal roadway projects while helping shape the future of our roadway design practice.

What Youll Do

As a key member of our team youll lead and contribute to the planning design and delivery of roadway infrastructure projects throughout Virginia. Youll have the opportunity to:

• Design and manage VDOT and municipal roadway projects from concept through construction
• Develop roadway plans profiles typical sections maintenance of traffic plans and cost estimates
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and project stakeholders
• Mentor and guide junior engineers while supporting team growth
• Coordinate with contractors utility providers and public agencies
• Participate in public meetings and help drive successful project outcomes

What Were Looking For

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
• 6 years of roadway design experience preferably in Virginia
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; candidates licensed in other states will be considered with a commitment to obtain Virginia licensure
• Experience with MicroStation OpenRoads Designer (ORD); Civil 3D experience is a plus
• Knowledge of AASHTO VDOT and local design standards and practices
• Strong communication project management and leadership skills

Our employees are the most critical part of ATCS. For this position we offer a competitive salary range of $125000 to $175000 per year commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus with a target 2% of the employees annualized addition to compensation ATCS offers outstanding employee-focused benefits for you and your family.
