Role Definition

US Drivetrain is seeking an EHS Specialist to support the production facilities in East Peoria Transmissions and Mossville Electric Drive. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to supporting Environmental Health and Safety in a production environment supporting facility operations legal compliance EPA OSHA and other regulatory agencies. Additionally this position manages Ergonomics Environmental Incident investigation Emergency Response Planning and Training for the facility.

What you will do

• Identifies common safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organizations operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards.

• Ensures EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility division or enterprise objectives.

• Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards government regulations and adequacy relative to local conditions.

• Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions alerts line management to problems and makes recommendations for improvement.

Degree Requirement

• Bachelors degree in an appropriate scientific or engineering discipline is desired.

What you must have (skills)

• Sustainability: Knowledge of sustainability strategy; ability to integrate sustainability into the overall business strategy of the organization to build a sustainable business model.

• Risk Management: Knowledge of processes tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organizations exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.

• Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

• Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

• Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

• Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.

• Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches tools techniques for recognizing anticipating and resolving organizational operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Top candidates will have

• Ability to perform complex assignments

• Manufacturing experience

• Hazardous waste remediation and environmental management experience

• Industrial Hygiene and hazardous material management experience

• Professional certification (CHMM PE CIH or CSP)

Additional Information

• This position will close on 4/24/2026 at 11:59 pm.

• This position will be located onsite 5 days a week in East Peoria IL (Building KK).

• Relocation (domestic) assistance is available for this position.

• VISA sponsorship is NOT available.

• This position may require less than 10% travel.
