We are currently seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist to support individuals in our OPWDD-funded Residential this vital role youll work directly with individuals and teams to promote independence emotional well-being and connection. The position will cover Cortland & Ithaca locations.

Salary is $50000 - $60000 per year depending on experience. This position is fully benefits eligible.

Responsibilities
Forge strong supportive connections with individuals in our residential program creating a foundation for growth and positive change.
Lead Individualized Support:Design implement and monitorBehavior Support Plansthat are thoughtfully tailored to each persons unique strengths and needs.
Empower and Mentor Staff:Guide train and inspire team members in the effective use of behavior support strategies ensuring consistent high-quality care.
Comprehensive Documentation:Maintain clear thorough records of assessments plans and progress supporting continuity and excellence in care.
Resource and Role Model:Serve as a knowledgeable resource for both families and staff offering practical tools ongoing coaching and encouragement to foster long-term success.
Data-Driven Practice:Collect compile and interpret data to inform interventions and measure outcomes ensuring evidence-based decision-making.
Functional Behavior Assessments:Gather background information and documentation to write comprehensiveFunctional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)that guide effective support strategies.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:Work directly with RNs and Direct Support staff to assess the effectiveness of psychiatric medications and support optimal medication management.
Active Participation in Psychiatry Appointments:Attend psychiatry appointments to discuss psychiatric needs and medication plans advocating for the best interests of those you serve.
Collaborative Care Across Locations:Occasionally travel to other program sites to promote seamless support and continuity of care for all individuals served.
Qualifications
- Masters degree from a program in a clinical or treatment field of social work or psychology LCSW LMSW or a BCBA or LBA or an NYS license in mental health counseling.
