Job Summary
Job Title: School-Based Mental Health Clinician - Sexual Abuse & Problematic Sexual Behavior Specialist
Employment Type: W-2 Part-Time
Location: Remote (U.S.)
Scheduling & Availability (ET): Shifts are scheduled within 7:00 AM8:00 PM 7 days/week. You will not work all hoursyour weekly schedule will be built within this window based on client needs and your availability with most sessions typically after school.
- School year: must be able to accommodate sessions in 7:009:30 AM and 4:008:00 PM windows
- Summer: sessions may be scheduled 7:00 AM7:00 PM (flexible)
- Clinicians: weekly Thursday team meeting 9:00 AM or 12:00 PM (based on your availability) Week 1 onboarding at 9:00 AM
- Occasional holidays as needed
- Clinicians are required to maintain a minimum of 15 client hours per week
Compensation:
- $40$60/hr for scheduled client sessions (rate based on license level & credentials)
- $25/hr for training and administrative (non-clinical) time

Role Overview:
VPM is seeking a School-Based Mental Health Clinician - Sexual Abuse & Problematic Sexual Behavior Specialist to provide short-term school-based tele-therapy to K12 students across Virginia through a state-funded initiative in partnership with the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE). This specialty-specific role is intended for clinicians with focused training and clinical experience in working with children and adolescents impacted by sexual abuse sexual trauma aggression and problematic sexual behaviors.
This is a specialty-specific posting intended to recruit clinicians with focused experience advanced training and/or certifications aligned to this clinical area. Candidates should be prepared to provide details regarding relevant certifications specialized training and direct experience with the identified population during the screening process.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
We are seeking a compassionate highly skilled clinician who is:

- Able to navigate sensitive clinical issues with professionalism sound judgment and strong ethical practice
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Client Care
- Deliver individual tele-therapy sessions for K12 students referred by participating schools
- Provide specialized therapeutic support for students impacted by sexual trauma abuse aggression and problematic sexual behaviors
- Utilize evidence-based developmentally appropriate interventions informed by trauma-focused care
- Support students with emotional regulation safety concerns boundary issues behavioral challenges and trauma-related symptoms
- Provide services that are culturally responsive and appropriate for diverse student populations
Collaboration & Communication
- Coordinate with school counselors family resource managers caregivers and administrative teams to support treatment planning and continuity of care
- Participate in case consultation supervision and multidisciplinary discussions related to high-need student cases
- Maintain professional timely communication with school partners and internal VPM teams
- Engage families when clinically appropriate to support treatment goals and reinforce safety and stabilization
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete all clinical documentation including intake progress and discharge notes within 48 hours
- Ensure compliance with licensure requirements HIPAA FERPA mandated reporting obligations and program-specific standards
- Support outcomes tracking and program reporting through case summaries and required documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
Licensure
- Licensed in Virginia as an LPC LCSW LMFT or equivalent clinical license preferred
- Candidates with strong specialized certification and training in this area will be considered
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience working with children adolescents or school-aged youth
- Demonstrated experience providing treatment related to sexual trauma abuse aggression or problematic sexual behavior in youth
- Experience with trauma-informed care crisis response mandated reporting and safety planning preferred
- Experience in school-based therapy community mental health child advocacy family systems work or telehealth strongly preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in evidence-based interventions (CBT DBT solution-focused narrative therapy)
- Strong time management organization and documentation skills
- Commitment to culturally responsive strengths-based and trauma-informed care
- Self-directed with strong virtual presence and professionalism in remote settings
Preferred Certifications & Specialized Training
- CSOTP (Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider) or eligibility
- ATSA (Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse) training
- PSB-CBT (Problematic Sexual Behavior Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
- TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
- Other specialized training related to sexual trauma or juvenile sexual behavior intervention
Professional Communication & Attendance (Essential Function)

- Notify the team as soon as possible regarding delays absences or scheduling conflicts
- Maintain timely professional communication during scheduled work hours

Compensation & Benefits:
