The Process Engineer plays a critical role in optimizing operations across packaging labeling storage and distribution and continuous improvement collaborating with crossfunctional teams to drive efficient compliant highquality this highly autonomous role youll influence daily operations by supporting production scheduling resolving capacity constraints investigating deviations contributing to client audits and serving as a subject matter expert on equipment and systems. The Role:
- Support a safe working environment by proactively identifying and addressing potential safety concerns.
- Assist in planning preparing and executing Traditional and FastChain production schedules to enable ontime packaging and delivery.
- Lead operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across the department and site.
- Participate in or lead crossfunctional teams to investigate deviations and complaints identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis for safety quality and delivery events; resolve production issues; and generate/close deviations and productrelated complaints.
- Create revise and optimize procedures and work instructions and support training to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Maintain clear communication and alignment with crossfunctional teams to support seamless operations.
- Drive process optimization cost reduction and innovation through new technologies best practices and operational learnings.
- Develop design validate and qualify packaging and labeling processes and equipment to ensure efficiency quality and cGMP compliance.
- Monitor and analyze KPIs for packaging and distribution implementing datadriven improvements to enhance performance and efficiency.
- All other duties as assigned.
The Candidate:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering required (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) with a minimum of 1 year of experience in process engineering or a similar role within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry; Masters degree in Engineering may be considered with no prior experience.
- Experience in GMP related industry is highly preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of clinical or pharmaceutical packaging and supply services highly preferred.
- Demonstrated professionalism with a strong work ethic positive attitude and excellent communication skills when interacting with internal teams and external clients.
- Ability to anticipate and identify unmet customer and departmental needs follow instructions in various formats and lead by example in alignment with Catalents values.
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure manage competing deadlines and communicate clearly with peers managers and customers.
- Physical & Working Requirements: Ability to stand walk and sit frequently; lift push and pull up to 45 lbs; kneel and reach occasionally; must have 20/30 corrected vision. Work may involve occasional exposure to extreme cold (refrigerators and freezers) hazards humidity wet conditions and temperature changes with frequent exposure to lowmoderate noise levels.
The anticipated salary range for this role in California is $82000 - $90000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job type and length of experience within the industry skillset education business needs etc. Catalent is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
