A stealth-mode battery startup based in San Jose is seeking an Equipment Engineer to support the development and scaling of its advanced energy storage technology. The company is focusedon building next-generation battery solutions and offers a fast-paced highly collaborative environment.
Position Summary:
The Equipment Engineer will be responsible for planning installing maintaining and upgradingcritical equipment and facility infrastructure. This role works closely with process engineers internal teams and external vendors to ensure tools are operating efficiently and alignedwith both development and production needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine facility specifications and equipment layout based on tool requirements process flow and safety considerations.
- Plan and manage the installation of multiple tools coordinating with process engineers facilities teams and external vendors.
- Monitor equipment performance on a daily basisto ensure reliability and support ongoing development and production.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot/repair equipment issues including working with external manufacturers when needed.
- Support upgrades and modifications of tools based on input from process engineering and leadership teams.
- Collaborate with vendors to define equipment specifications and ensure timely delivery and implementation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with equipment installation maintenance and troubleshootingin a lab manufacturing or technical environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate across cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on detail-oriented approach.
- Experience working with external vendors and equipment suppliers is preferred.
