Position Summary:
The Principal Mechanical Engineer will serve as a technical leader overseeing mechanical design efforts across multiple projects. This role involves leading teams managing client relationships and ensuring high-quality project delivery from concept through construction. This position is based in Downtown Honolulu and follows a hybrid work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead mechanical (MEP) design efforts for a variety of building projects including commercial healthcare education and hospitality sectors.
Provide oversight for mechanical design deliverables including drawings specifications calculations and system layouts.
Act as Engineer of Record (EOR) on projects as needed.
Manage and mentor mechanical engineering staff.
Support construction administration activities including site observations and coordination with contractors.
Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development efforts.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
1015 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the A/E consulting industry.
Strong expertise in HVAC systems design across commercial and institutional projects.
Knowledge of relevant building codes standards and regulations.
Proven leadership experience managing projects and teams.
Applicants must currently reside in Hawaii.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
LEED accreditation is a plus.
Experience with Revit and energy modeling tools (e.g. Trace 700 EnergyPlus).
