Anticipated Multimedia and Broadcast Production CTE Instructor
Description:
The Multimedia & Broadcast Production Instructor optimizes students investment inoccupational knowledge technical skills and creative production to prepare them forsuccess in the media industry. The instructor is responsible for the successful deliveryof the Chapter 74 Multimedia Production & Broadcast frameworks and leveragingindustry expertise to provide authentic real-world learning experiences. Students willdevelop skills in video production broadcasting audio production journalism anddigital media while working toward industry-recognized credentials and postsecondary
readiness.
Location: Everett High School
Required Education/Experience:
- Licensed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as aVocational Technical Multimedia & Broadcast Production Teacher or licensed asa Radio & Television Broadcasting Teacher (or eligible for licensure)
- Passing score on required subject matter tests (written and performance)in Radio & Television Broadcasting
- Passing score on the Communication & Literacy Skills Test or theVocational Technical Literacy Skills Test (VTLST)
- Documentation of employment experience (or approved self-employmentverification) in alignment with DESE requirements
- Associates degree or higher in multimedia production broadcastingcommunications film or a related field
- A minimum of four (4) years of full-time employment experience directly relatedto multimedia production broadcasting film journalism or digital media
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Bachelors Degree or higher in multimedia production film communications orrelated field
- SEI Endorsement
- Experience with industry-standard tools (Adobe Premiere After Effects Final CutPro AVID audio editing software streaming platforms)
- Experience in video production broadcast journalism content creation or digitalmedia production
- 3 or more years of high school teaching experience in CTE
- Experience working in an urban public school setting with high school students
- Proficiency in reading writing and speaking in another language in addition toEnglish
Essential Duties:
- Develop and implement a curriculum aligned to the MA Chapter 74 MultimediaProduction & Broadcast frameworks.
- Teach technical skills in video production audio production broadcastingphotography and post-production editing.
- Develop and implement a curriculum aligned to the MA Chapter 74 MultimediaProduction & Broadcast frameworks.
- Teach technical skills in video production audio production broadcastingphotography and post-production editing.
- Integrate digital literacy employability skills and entrepreneurship intoinstruction.
- Assess and document student progress and provide regular feedback.
- Maintain and update equipment studio spaces and instructional materials.
- Collaborate with the CTE Director on curriculum development scope andsequence and program improvement.
- Develop partnerships with industry professionals and serve as liaison to theProgram Advisory Committee and attend two meetings per year.
- Create authentic opportunities for students such as live broadcasts streamingand multimedia projects.
- Maintain accurate student records including attendance grades andcertifications.
- Foster a classroom environment that promotes creativity collaboration andprofessional behavior.
- Support student placement in internships co-op or postsecondary pathways.
- Communicate effectively with students families and colleagues.
- Participate in staff meetings professional development and school initiatives.
- Ensure a safe learning environment aligned with OSHA and industry safetystandards.
- Collaborate with school adjustment and guidance counselors to support studentssocial emotional and mental health needs.
- Incorporate social-emotional learning standards and curriculum that promote asense of belonging inclusion self-confidence team-building and informeddecision-making.
- Collaborate with special education leadership and teacher colleagues to reviewIEPs and ensure all accommodations are consistently and adequately delivered.
- Incorporate language activities that align with the WIDA Standards into contentinstruction including listening speaking reading and writing to meet the needsof multilingual learners.
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal and Director of Career & TechnicalEducation.
Salary:
Salary for this position will be based on the Everett Teachers Association Collective Bargaining Agreement. -SY 26-27 Pay Range - $65178-$125654.
