We are seeking a local candidate for this role and the position is located onsite downtown Oklahoma City Oklahoma.

Travel to additional locations in north OKC and Edmond.

Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm

Days: Monday-Friday

Extended hours as needed during the week and occasional weekends as needed for business needs

B.I.G. is looking for a dedicated person to add to the I.T. Department. This persons primary responsibilities will be the day-to-day management and upkeep of our Physical Security Systems. This includes video Surveillance Access Control and Alarm systems across multiple sites. This person will work with Management Consultants and VARs to assist with the implementation upgrade and maintenance of B.I.G. security systems. Security Systems Technician is responsible for securing a mix of manufacturing fulfilment and corporate facilities.

The day in the life of a Security Access Control CCTV Technician...

  • Collaborate with Information Technology security and operations team members to develop installation plans for security access control and VMS systems.
  • Recommend procure install maintain and repair access control systems surveillance cameras alarm systems and physical security system components.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance and reduce costs with physical security technology.
  • Maintain system architecture documentation blueprints floor plans SOPs status notifications and change management documentation.
  • Create proposals for upgrades and improvements to physical security systems.
  • Demonstrate the ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve security system issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network devices and connections as well as server and computer infrastructure related to security systems.
  • Manage VMS/NVR access control and alarm systems including assigning roles permissions providing recommendations and making system changes as needed.
  • Evaluate diagnose troubleshoot and perform repairs to security and access control systems as necessary.
  • Change system features and functions to meet operational needs.
  • Replace and upgrade cameras and other security system components as required.
  • Work with consultants vendors and VARs to complete security objectives and projects.
  • Troubleshoot IP/networking equipment and run wires as needed to support physical security infrastructure.
  • Install operate test and maintain metal detectors and related equipment to ensure effective screening and workplace safety.
  • Train personnel in the operation of security systems and metal detectors as required.
  • Respond to and resolve security system alerts and alarms including coordinating with emergency responders if necessary.
  • Pull appropriate cables from head ends to end points including S/UTP single stranded pairs and composite cable for access control.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 yearsof hands-on experience as a Security Systems Technician specializing in Access Control VMS/CCTV or Alarm systems
  • Strong knowledge of Video Management Systems (VMS) and Network Video Recorders (NVR).
  • Comprehensive understanding of Access Control Systems.
  • Familiarity with current security principles and industry best practices.
  • Ability to interpret and follow detailed instructions accurately.
  • Proven experience managing and prioritizing multiple tasks or projects concurrently.
  • Demonstrated skills in planning organizing and implementing work assignments.
  • Ability to access and work within all areas and levels of the facility.
  • Excellent communication presentation and facilitation abilities.
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into scalable repeatable processes.
  • Proficiency in creating floor plans and layouts using Visio or similar software.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively organize daily tasks and maintain a tidy workplace.
  • Experience with low voltage wiring and installation including troubleshooting and repair of electrical circuits and devices.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety standards codes and regulations for low voltage and alarm systems.
  • Basic proficiency in IP/networking for integration of security devices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team including collaborating with vendors consultants and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with alarm monitoring software and alarm response protocols.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment such as security cameras access control panels and wiring spools often weighing 3050 lbs.
  • Comfort working on ladders scaffolding or in confined spaces to install or troubleshoot devices at elevated or hard-to-reach locations.
  • Capable of performing repetitive tasks such as pulling cables through ceilings and walls for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while installing or servicing equipment.
  • Willingness to kneel crouch or crawl as needed to access installation sites and complete wiring or maintenance tasks

Education:

  • Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience

Computer Skills:

  • Advanced Office skills including Visio
  • Office 365
  • Basic IP Networking
  • Server Maintenance
  • Software installation and Maintenance

Certificates & Licenses:

  • Drivers License
  • Alarm Manager or Alarm Technician from Oklahoma Department of Labor preferred
  • Low Voltage Certification preferred
