Associate Researcher (Dr Beck's Lab) Neurology

Job Summary
The Beck lab ( studies how brain and spinal cord lesions form grow and repair in multiple sclerosis (MS) and other autoimmune disorders that affect the central nervous system and how those processes impact the course of disease. We use advanced MRI techniques and ultra-high field MRI in combination with analysis of CSF and blood specimens to understand these processes with the ultimate goal of developing new treatments for people with MS.
Responsibilities
- Organize manage and analyze MRI data across multiple ongoing clinical studies
- Download and track MRI data following acquisition to ensure accurate data capture
- Execute image processing pipelines and monitor workflow efficiency
- Perform quality control checks on processed imaging data and troubleshoot issues
- Conduct manual adjustments and corrections to imaging outputs as needed
- Perform manual lesion delineation on MRI scans
- Calculate imaging metrics including lesion count lesion volume and brain tissue volumes
- Maintain and update study databases with processed imaging data and derived metrics
- Conduct statistical analyses to evaluate relationships between MRI findings and clinical variables
- Performs other related duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in science or related field preferred or combination of relevant research experience and education
- 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience
- Basic computer programming skills and/or image analysis experience preferred but not required.
