Job Description:
Job Summary:
- Performs routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under the direction of a physician in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
- Customers served include client employees Medical Staff patients and regulatory agencies.
- Priority will be given to activities that directly affect customer service.
- Complies with the Interventional Cardiology departmental on call policy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Essential functions are those tasks duties and responsibilities that are performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Provides technical support for all Cath Lab procedures to include catheterizations angioplasty structural heart procedures peripheral angiography and angioplasty temp pacemaker insertion and LV assist device insertions.
- Responsible for technical support and clinical assistance both sterile and nonsterile of procedures including catheterizations angioplasty structural heart procedures peripheral angiography and angioplasty temp pacemaker insertion and LV assist device insertions.
- Operates required advanced imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols for interventional and noninterventional patient procedures.
- Ensures proper safety standards are met and radiation safety practices are adhered to.
- Instructs students and residents and performs preceptor duties when necessary.
- Performs quality assurance checks on equipment.
- Assists in maintaining supply inventory for all Cath Lab procedures.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of client information systems.
- Demonstrates knowledge of coding procedures for accurate billing of all Cath Lab procedures Learns new techniques and technology by attending lectures seminars and educational readings.
