Step into Your New Role
As a Civil Roadway Engineer you will be working on cutting-edge multi-disciplinary roadway design projects for high-profile state agencies and large municipalities in the New England area. You will work closely with our team of civil engineers to support and deliver roadway design projects including incorporation of multimodal facilities traffic calming treatments urban streets roadway designs and modifications accessibility improvements transit network upgrades drainage assessments and designs public and private utility coordination and green infrastructure elements.
Most of our team enjoys a hybrid schedule which allows us to offer this role in Portland ME and Boston MA.

Responsibilities:
- Providing technical expertise on projects from the conceptual and preliminary engineering design phase to final design.
- Providing technical expertise on projects beyond final design to through construction phase services.
- Coordinating with architects bridge environmental geotechnical survey and traffic professionals to complete multi-disciplinary project deliverables.
- Assisting project managers in various aspects of roadway design utility infrastructure design and coordination development of construction documents and construction support services.
- Preparing detailed civil design plans specifications cost estimates and bid packages.
- Working with Project Managers to ensure that production of specifications reports and analyses meet scope schedule cost and quality requirements.
Requirements and qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
- 0-3 years experience in the design and preparation of construction contract documents for roadway design projects.
- Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) license or the ability and motivation to obtain license.
- Experience with developing roadway designs in accordance with Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) or Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) design guidelines and standards.
- AutoCAD Civil 3D MicroStation - InRoads/OpenRoads AutoTURN.
- Strong written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in: 3D roadway models horizontal alignments profiles corridors cross sections grading sidewalk/curb ramps ADA design construction phasing quantity takeoffs and estimates preferred.
Following an offer candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials a motor vehicle report (MVR) and a comprehensive background check.
