Mining Engineer

About the Role:

Technica is seeking a motivated Mining Engineer or Engineering Technologist with 510 years of underground mining experience to join our growing team in Sudbury this role the successful candidate will support project operations while contributing to mine design scheduling technical studies and cost estimating. Experience in both operating mines and study work is considered a strong asset.

The key responsibilities of a Mining Engineer include but not limited to:

• Develop underground mine designs
• Perform key tasks such as cut-off grade analysis mining method selection and economic evaluations
• Build life of mine schedules
• Assist with constructability reviews
• Prepare capital and operating cost estimates
• Engineering support for underground operations including development layouts drilling layouts and blast design
• Assemble and submit project close out packages

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of underground mining experience
• Degree or diploma in Mining Engineering or Mining Engineering Technology
• Experience in but not limited to
  • Mine planning
  • Mine scheduling
  • Technical studies
  • Underground operations support
• Experience with Deswik Software Suite is required (CAD IS DSO)
