Recovery Resource Council celebrating 80 years of service to the Dallas and Fort Worth area is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to perform the following functions.
This position is responsible for assisting with the processing of payables. Assist with the accounts payable functions by entering invoices into the accounting software following department policies and deadlines. This position works closely with the Controller CFO HR Director other accounting staff and Program Directors.

This position is responsible for assisting with the processing of payables. Assist with the accounts payable functions by entering invoices into the accounting software following department policies and deadlines. This position works closely with the Controller CFO HR Director other accounting staff and Program Directors.
- Review for coding and authorized approval identify errors or discrepancies and resolve before processing.
- Assist with entering new or updated vendor names and data send W9 forms to vendors enter consistently tagged vendor IDs into accounting system.
- Research and resolve any missing or outstanding backup documentation with staff.
- Assist accounts payable processes including purchase orders and check requests.
- Assist when needed with check preparation including ACH transactions and web payments.
- Proof of accurate and consistent backup documentation for all program payments.
- Provide accurate and effective document preparation and records management relative to the accounts payable function in accordance with record retention policies and laws.
- Assist in staff credit card monthly processing including reconciliation and accurate importation to accounting software.
- Assist with monthly staff mileage entries.
- Perform various departmental tasks in support of co-workers as workload and staffing levels dictate including review and back-up of work for other departmental positions.
- Assist in annual audit by preparing assigned reports or providing documentation as directed by the Controller or CFO.
Education/experience requirement
- 3 years of progressively responsible experience in a non-profit setting in an accounting finance or bookkeeping role.
- Good organization and attention to detail professional presence strong customer relations skills and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to perform duties as a team player / problem-solver and work in stressful situations accommodate changes and meet deadlines.
- Prior experience with MIP / Microix accounting software preferred
