Manufacturing Tooling Manager

Company:

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to support the Tooling & Emergent Operations (Level K) to join our dynamic team in Berkeley MO.

Position Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage manufacturing teams to achieve production schedules quality standards and cost targets.
• Develop and implement manufacturing processes workflows and best practices to optimize efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with Boeings safety quality and environmental policies.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to support product development and resolve manufacturing issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma or other methodologies to reduce waste and improve processes.
• Manage resources including labor equipment and materials to meet production demands.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports for senior management.
• Oversee training and development of manufacturing personnel to build a skilled and motivated workforce.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and customer requirements including FAA/DCMA and other aerospace standards.
• Lead problem-solving efforts and root cause analysis for manufacturing defects or delays.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader temp manager large scale cross functional project/program management or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course Exploring Leadership.
• 3 years of experience working in a tooling manufacturing or fabrication environment
• 3 years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role
• 3 years of experience in a customer-facing role
• 3 years of experience applying continuous improvement tools and techniques
• 3 years of experience with Microsoft office suite

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience with Aerospace tooling and/ or equipment drawings
• Experience leading Boeings Production Systems
• Experience in metal parts fabrication and/or machine shop processes
• Experience leading cross functional teams
• Experience using Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or similar planning software
