Controller

Our long standing manufacturing client located nearby Seal Beach is seeking a Controller to manage the daily operational accounting functions as well as spearhead process improvement initiatives. The Controller will play a vital role in the establishment of a stable accounting function. This is a great opportunity to implement process improvement and efficiencies in the daily and month-end accounting processes. For this role the Controller will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Hands-on involvement and oversight of the daily and month-end domestic accounting operations while managing developing and leading the accounting staff
• Actively participate in all aspects of the full accounting cycle and provide financial statements and related analysis for senior management
• Assist with operations budgeting and forecasting function and partner with various departments for financial reporting and analysis
• Assist in the implementation of best practices utilizing ERP functions as well as drive the documentation of internal processes and controls
• Lead and/or participate in organizational goals and departmental projects and initiatives that drive process improvement within the accounting function

The qualified Controller must possess the following:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
• At least ten years of work experience ideally within a manufacturing/distribution/logistics industry
• The ability to work hands-on in the details of the accounting records lead develop and train accounting staff and collaborate with various departments for financial reporting and analysis purposes
• Mindset to leverage existing ERP system to automate and improve accounting efficiencies and reduce manual processes
