The IT & Health Information Systems Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day management maintenance security and optimisation of all IT and clinical information systems within the facility.
This includes oversight of cloud-based RIS and PACS platforms Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems IT infrastructure imaging equipment connectivity and data security while ensuring seamless system performance and user support.
Key Responsibilities
1. RIS PACS & Clinical Systems Management
Serve as the primary on-site administrator for cloud-based RIS and PACS systems
Manage user accounts roles permissions and system configurations
Liaise with external RIS/PACS vendors for support and issue resolution
Support clinical teams in the effective use of systems
Ensure seamless integration between RIS PACS and imaging modalities
2. Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Management
Administer and support the EPR system
Manage data workflows access rights and system integrity
Ensure compliance with data protection and patient confidentiality standards
3. IT Infrastructure & Network Management
Maintain LAN internet connectivity routers switches and firewalls
Support workstations reporting stations printers and scanners
Perform routine maintenance updates and system performance checks
4. Imaging Equipment IT Support
Configure and support DICOM connectivity across imaging equipment
Coordinate with equipment vendors and biomedical engineers
Provide support during installations upgrades and troubleshooting
5. Cybersecurity & Data Protection
Implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices
Monitor system security backups and access controls
Ensure compliance with the Nigerian Data Protection Act and other relevant regulations
6. User Support & Training
Provide first-line IT support across all departments
Train staff on IT systems tools and best practices
Maintain issue logs and ensure timely resolution of technical problems
7. Vendor & Contract Management
Coordinate with IT vendors service providers and support partners
Monitor service level agreements (SLAs) and vendor performance
8. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain comprehensive IT documentation policies and procedures
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
Provide regular reports on system performance and IT operations
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field
Minimum of 3 5 years relevant IT experience
Prior experience in healthcare IT or diagnostic environments is highly preferred
Strong knowledge of networking cloud systems and cybersecurity practices
Desirable Skills & Certifications
Experience with RIS PACS DICOM and HL7 standards
Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA Microsoft or Cisco
Familiarity with healthcare data systems and clinical workflows
