Purpose and Objective:
SAP America Inc. seeks a Services Architecture Senior Specialist at our Houston TX location to act as a customer advisor on appropriate business-driven IT-roadmaps and architecture designs based on SAPs offerings and cloud strategy.
Expectations and Tasks:
Help to operationalize the customers business strategies identifies relevant components approaches input etc. to derive the best possible solution and helping our customers reap the increasingly differentiating benefits of our cloud solutions. Challenge existing solutions/approaches/concepts to generate a state-of-the-art and future-ready outcome. Take a step back if required and re-define the concepts so that a constant improvement is guaranteed (agility in solution design). Help to clarify expectations from various stakeholders especially in very difficult cases; create a solution which integrates diverse points of views and serves as a starting point for future SAP business. Collaborate with customers partners and SAP teams for the best possible implementation. Drive knowledge management and innovation activities based on this experience with customers. Document successful approaches tools etc. and makes them available at SAP internally. Collaborate and co-innovate with the respective development teams. Fully understand and leverage the capabilities of SAPs technology platform(s). Understand and use various Architectural patterns e.g. micro-service based architecture reactive architecture cloud native etc.
Education and Occupational Experience:
Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Engineering or a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively a Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Engineering or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:
Experience must include four (4) years involving each of the following:
- Installing configuring and administering SAP HANA Database and SAP NetWeaver Technologies;
- Operations incidents and change management related to SAP applications and infrastructure to ensure business continuity;
- SAP Platform Technology Landscape design in Technical Planning Installations Cloud migration and OS/DB Migrations;
- Unix Windows and Linux Operating Systems;
- SAP Hana Oracle and MS SQL Server database administration;
- Performance tuning User Management and System Copies with various SAP products;
- Troubleshooting analyzing and resolving technical problems;
- Installation Configuration upgrading SAP S/4HANA;
- Configuring installing and integrating SAP cloud products with IBP and Ariba; and
- Involvement in the planning of implementation projects including sizing scoping strategizing client or landscape and HANA High Availability/HANA Disaster Recovery Strategy with minimal supervision at transaction level.
Travel: Position does require up to 80% domestic and international travel to SAP offices and customer sites to implement SAP solutions.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $138237 - $196010. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAPs commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $138237 - $230600. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education skills experience scope of the role location etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
