Job Summary
The ROI Manager Health Information Management is responsible for developing and implementing policies procedures and technology systems to ensure the efficient and compliant management of health information by leading a team of professionals to maintain the confidentiality integrity and availability of patient data while supporting the organizations clinical and administrative functions.Essential Functions
-Oversee the implementation and maintenance of health information management systems including electronic health records (EHR) and health information exchange (HIE) platforms.
-Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to ensure the functionality security and interoperability of health information systems.
-Develop and enforce policies and procedures for the creation maintenance and retention of patient health records and other health information in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
-Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other applicable privacy and security regulations governing the access use and disclosure of protected health information (PHI).
-Implement and monitor security measures to protect health information from unauthorized access breaches and cyber threats.
-Supervise and provide guidance to health information management staff including medical coders health information technicians and release of information specialists.
-Collaborate with clinical departments medical staff and administrative teams to ensure timely and accurate documentation and data exchange.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree Health Information Management required or Bachelors Degree Related Field of Study required and Masters Degree Related Field of Study preferred
- Health Information Management Experience 5-7 years required and Management Experience 3-5 years required
Skills for Success
- Comprehensive knowledge of health information management systems coding practices and health information privacy and security regulations.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and health information exchange (HIE) technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve health information management challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining patient privacy confidentiality and data integrity.
