About the role
The Burton Street Centre is a free and confidential counselling service for young people aged 16 to 21
Provide referrals advocacy and coordinated care to connect clients with a range of services including mental health healthcare housing justice and community providers
Contribute to the ADS VAN crisis roster delivering crisis response clinical assessment and risk management for clients experiencing domestic and family violence sexual assault and child wellbeing concerns
Build and maintain strong partnerships with clients community organisations and service providers to strengthen support networks
Provide clinical guidance and support for clients identified through Domestic Violence Routine Screening
Deliver culturally safe inclusive and client-centred care using trauma-informed strengths-based and harm minimisation approaches while supporting positive health and wellbeing outcomes
About you
Current unrestricted NSW Drivers License
Degree in Social Work and eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
Demonstrated experience and commitment to trauma-informed care and harm minimisation when supporting young people with complex needs
Demonstrated understanding of the health and social issues affecting people who use drugs and an understanding of harm reduction-based approaches in working with substance use
Demonstrated commitment to and high-level experience in multidisciplinary teamwork in an environment with competing priorities
