About the role:

The Male Case Worker in the Out of Home Care team organises and supports activities that help young people build life skills social skills and cultural connection. He works with carers families Aboriginal organisations and other supports. He also helps young people prepare to leave care and live independently while following organisational and legal requirements.

Essential Criteria:

• Knowledge of developmental needs of children and young people particularly young males.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and contemporary issuesaffecting them.
• Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with communities families childrenand young people.
• Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to proactively establish and sustaineffective stakeholder relationships.
• Sound written skills including report writing
• Demonstrated ability to manage own time and work resources.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Must reside in the South West and have local knowledge about the community.
• Demonstrated experience assisting in the development of community projects.
• Ability to drive to outreach to the Greater Bunbury and South West regions.
• Ability to take direction determine priorities and manage workloads to meet agreedtimelines and objectives.
• Good interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and independently with minimal supervision.
