As a Correctional Supply Clerk you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to performs a variety of duties related to managing and distributing supplies for the medical unit within the correctional facility.
Responsibilities
The Supply Clerk is responsible for ordering and maintaining an inventory of supplies and various clerical tasks to support the healthcare staff and overall function of the medical department. Additional responsibilities may include but not be limited to:
- Operating office equipment and using word processing spreadsheets and other software applications to prepare reports correspondence letters etc. as applicable.
- Creating purchase orders requisitions and maintaining inventory of all supplies through the electronic IOS purchasing system relevant to the position without supervision.
- Processing and maintaining all purchase orders packing slips receipts and inventory within an effective and efficient records management system.
- Submitting all requests for services repairs and maintenance for all on-site equipment.
- Performing various general clerical and administrative functions including but not limited to assisting with answering telephones.
- Using all functions and applications of TechCare relevant to the position with no supervision.
Qualifications
Position Qualifications/Requirements/Preferred Experience:
- Must have a high school diploma or higher
- Must have computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must possess strong written communication skills and have the ability to interact/communicate effectively with healthcare staff patients and correctional staff
- Be able to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)
- Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds including those with mental health or substance abuse issues
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies procedures and legal requirements
- Display integrity professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies procedures and legal requirements
- Must pass the facilitys criminal background check and drug screening
Physical Capabilities:
Must have the ability to stand for long periods lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds) bend squat reach push pull walk significant distances and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
