Job Summary
We are looking for a customer-obsessed Software Development Manager to lead our Shopping Context initiatives that support critical shopping experiences across Amazon. The CDF team owns tier-1 services including Customer Context API (CCAPI) the Slate ecosystem (Slate library and SlateTokenService) DeviceContextService (DCS) and the Customer Intent Authority (CIA) objectall of which are essential to powering ranking personalization and accurate offers across Amazons shopping surfaces. As a Software Development Manager on the CDF team you will be responsible for driving the vision and execution of next-generation context sharing capabilities that enable AI-powered shopping experiences. You will work closely with senior leaders across the Store ecosystem AmazonAPI and personalization teams to redefine how shopping context is captured shared and utilized to create seamless customer experiences.
Key job responsibilities
In this role you will:
* Lead a team of talented software engineers fostering their growth and development while delivering on our charter.
* Drive the technical roadmap for AI powered integrations.
* Continuously improve developer experience tooling
* Support high velocity events like Prime Day.
* Ensure operational excellence through metrics monitoring and continuous improvement
- 3 years of engineering team management experience
- 7 years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3 years of designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
