Independent Chef

We are a Japanese sushi restaurant Hamachi and we are looking for an Independent Chef to strengthen our kitchen team. Do you have a passion for cooking and enjoy working in a dynamic kitchen environment Then you are a perfect fit for us!

You will assist in preparing dishes and work closely with our kitchen team. You are able to work both independently and as part of a team and you feel responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. Our restaurant is located in Schiedam.

Tasks

 Selecting and preparing ingredients (washing cutting mixing etc.)

Performing intermediate quality checks (doneness taste color etc.) and making adjustments where necessary

Ensuring consistent quality and hygiene standards

Supervising kitchen assistants and correcting where necessary

Managing inventory ordering ingredients and checking deliveries

Daily cleaning of the work environment kitchen equipment and workstations

Reporting technical issues and resolving minor malfunctions

Providing input on menu composition changes and preparation methods

Requirements

You take initiative and are solution-oriented

You work confidently and take responsibility

MBO level 3 working/thinking level (even if you dont fully meet the requirements feel free to apply!)

Demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques
