Job Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Certified Coder to support outpatient coding operations specializing in Neurology Neurosurgery and E/M services. This role is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and assigning accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Coding & Documentation Review:
Review clinical documentation and assign accurate ICD-10-CM CPT-4 codes and modifiers
Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and APC reimbursement methodologies
Abstract and enter coding data for billing and reporting purposes
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Adhere to coding compliance standards and ethical guidelines
Maintain accuracy and integrity of coded data
Support audits and quality improvement initiatives
Collaboration & Communication:
Communicate with providers to clarify documentation
Issue queries when documentation is incomplete or unclear
Work closely with coding teams and leadership
Specialty Support:
Perform outpatient coding for neurology and neurosurgery services
Apply expertise in E/M coding
Support HCC coding when applicable
Systems & Reporting:
Utilize EPIC (preferred) for coding workflows
Maintain accurate records and support reporting needs
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of outpatient E/M coding experience
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding systems
Ability to interpret and analyze clinical documentation
Strong communication and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in neurology/neurosurgery coding
Exposure to HCC coding
Familiarity with APC reimbursement methodology
Experience working in hybrid environments
EPIC system experience
Education
High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Associate Degree in Health Information Management or related field (Preferred)
