Job Summary
The University of Portland located in Portland Oregon USA invites applications for a faculty position as a One-Year Visiting Instructor in the School of Education to begin August 15 2026. Areas of instruction may include the following: Initial and Advanced Educator Licensing Foundational literacy emphasizing the science of reading for preservice elementary teachers Second language development and general education support for multi-lingual learners Reading endorsement courses for practicing teachers preparing for reading interventionist roles Cognition and human development (pre-adolescent and adolescent) for preservice teachers The University of Portland is a primarily undergraduate institution comprising four professional schools and the College of Arts and Sciences ( CAS ) which houses our strong liberal arts Core Curriculum required of all students. All programs within the School of Education are designed to include a sequence of courses and field work that focus on student learning and development pedagogical knowledge an understanding of cultural and special needs diversity the use of technological skills an integration of foundational theory with practice and a strong emphasis on reflection and inquiry.
