DESCRIPTION:

This placement offers a student the opportunity to gain practical experience as a Scientific Officer. The role supports the companys mission to ensure the safe use and sustainability of chemicals and products across a wide range of industries worldwide.

Over the past decade global regulations chemical use have grown rapidly! This placement provides:

an opportunity for a student to develop the skills and knowledge needed to navigate this evolving regulatory landscape

working on meaningful projects that improve chemical safety and environmental performance.

The Scientific Officer (Intern) will work alongside experts to support research data analysis and compliance-related activities. We combine scientific research data management and regulatory interpretation offering a well-rounded introduction to professional practice within the chemical and life science industries.


REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced Degree with no prior experience with the opportunity for a one year placement in industry
Preferred Fields of Study: Occupational Safety & Health Environmental Science or related scientific field (e.g. Biology Chemistry Engineering)
Experience conducting risk assessments incident investigations and implementing corrective actions
Experience developing and delivering EHS training programs
Knowledge in industrial hygiene monitoring hazardous materials management and emergency response
Ability to analyze EHS data and metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Strong project management and organizational skills to handle multiple priorities
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to work with all levels of the organization
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS management systems
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
Additional language skills may be valued
Must be able to conduct facility inspections and respond to emergencies including some physical activity
