The Rural Fire Service (RFS) is the lead agency for bush fire management and mitigation in NSW. Fighting fires and protecting the community from emergencies is what we do!
The Operational Officer (OpO) Program is a RFS initiative to create and encourage a mobile and agile workforce across the state. The program is a unique opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of RFS activities in district and regional roles as well as other specialised sections across the organisation. The role provides a broad range of services in a team environment that lead to better protection of the community from bush fires and other emergencies.

- Attractive annual salary $85804 - $93949 p.a. plus 12% superannuation
- Location: Griffith MIA District (flexible working arrangements considered)
- Limited free onsite car parking available

What youll be doing:
Join the NSW Rural Fire Service in a vital frontlinesupport role that helps protect communities across the state. Youll play an essential part in delivering the projects services and operational support that keep our volunteers equipped trained and ready to this dynamic and rewarding position youll assist with district activities support community preparedness initiatives and help uphold key safety standards and procedures all contributing to the strength and resilience of local communities. The ideal candidate for the Operational Officer Level 1 role is a proactive and communityminded individual who thrives in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. As a vital member of the district team they will help deliver a wide range of operational administrative and servicesupport activities that enable NSW RFS members to be wellequipped prepared and capable of protecting the public. They bring a solid foundation of technical skills strong communication abilities and a genuine appreciation for the unique nature of volunteer organisations. With a commitment to continuous learning adherence to service standards and a hands-on approach to problem solving they will play an integral role in enhancing service delivery and supporting the frontline efforts of the worlds largest volunteer fire service.
