Whatyou will be doing: Reports to the center director. Directly supervises the managers of career technical training academics career support scheduling clerk/testing coordinator and secretary II. Responsible for the management of programs which includes career trades academics career support and career preparation services in compliance with government and management directives.
Essential functions:
1. Plan coordinate and direct the administrative and programmatic activities of the directorate.
2. Provide staff training evaluate staff performance and implement departmental changes as approved by the center director and coordinated with the human resources prior to implementation.
3. Develop departmental budget; monitor and control expenditures and review and recommend changes to budget authorizations.
4. Develop and implement new and revised policies and procedures affecting the directorate and subordinate departments; coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with overall center objectives.
5. Regularly assess and audit directorate for contractual compliance and quality of services to students; prepare audit and assessment reports.
6. Regularly inspect facility; maintain quality standards.
7. Direct program changes and supervise the development and implementation of programs for the department.
8. Assist in formulating long range objectives plans and programs.
9. Coordinate the delivery of the Career Success Standards.
10. Assist center director in maintaining communication with student population.
11. Assist in analyzing statistical trends organizational problems and operational requirements for review and appropriate action.
12. Develop and monitor shift schedules; plan and direct work assignments and schedules of activities.
13. Conduct staff training to develop greater proficiency in providing guidance and social adjustment and social skills development counseling to students.
14. Provide positive quality customer services to students staff and other center customers.
15. Participate in student employability programs and activities.
16. Support promote and enforce the Job Corps Zero Tolerance Policy.
17. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
18. Maintain accountability of staff students and property; adhere to safety practices.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education & experience:
- Bachelors degree and four years related experience required or Associate degree with at least 10 years experience three of which must be in a managerial capacity. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required. Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
