Job Summary

The Role

  • Teaching History across KS3 and KS4 with the potential to support A-Level classes in Year 2 of your induction.

  • Delivering a broad and diverse curriculum ranging from Medieval England to 20th-century global conflicts.

  • Planning lessons that develop students abilities to evaluate evidence analyze interpretations and construct arguments.

  • Supporting pupils with GCSE examination preparation and the mastering of essay-writing techniques.

  • Encouraging a passion for local history and heritage through fieldwork and museum visits.

  • Contributing to the schools academic enrichment programme such as the History Society or Debate Club.

  • Engaging in whole-school CPD and the statutory ECT induction sessions and observations.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Currently working towards or recently completed Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • A strong academic background with a degree in History (2:1 or higher preferred).

  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for making historical narratives accessible to all learners.

  • High expectations for pupil engagement classroom behaviour and individual progress.

  • A collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn from expert practitioners.

  • A proactive organised and reflective approach to teaching.
