Job Summary

Learn the ropes of buying in a fastpaced environment

As a Junior Buyer you will play a key role in maintaining optimal stock levels - balancing availability cost efficiency and customer demand. You will manage daytoday purchasing activity develop strong supplier relationships and build the commercial skills required to progress into a Buyer position.


Your responsibilities:

  • Raise and manage purchase orders using internal/MRP systems tracking them through to delivery

  • Monitor stock levels and place orders to ensure product availability while maintaining efficient inventory levels

  • Work closely with suppliers to confirm lead times pricing and order status

  • Build and develop supplier relationships supporting negotiations on pricing and terms

  • Support the sourcing of new suppliers products and components as required

  • Investigate and resolve issues with orders deliveries invoices and supplier discrepancies

  • Coordinate deliveries and shipments with suppliers freight forwarders and couriers

  • Ensure products and supplier processes meet relevant compliance and quality standards

  • Maintain accurate system data including setting up new products (SKUs) updating costs lead times and product information

  • Communicate effectively with internal departments to ensure purchasing supports operational needs

  • Provide clear updates on order progress delivery dates and any risks or delays

  • Handle enquiries via phone and email in a timely and professional manner

  • Support the wider Buying team with day-to-day activities and administrative tasks

To succeed in this role youll need a positive attitude and the following:

  • Previous experience within a purchasing/buying department or similar environment

  • Experience in product sourcing supplier negotiation or inventory management is beneficial

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
