LOCATION OF POSITION

MDH Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center Jessup MD

Main Purpose of Job

This position will provide support to the Nursing Staffing Office by producing daily nursing coverage schedules for the twelve (12) patient units Nursing Staffing Office and admissions office focusing on a producing coverage that meets the minimum practicing standards for the unit acuity and census. This position answers phone calls and takes staff call-outs and logs the information accurately efficiently and timely. This position directs other callers to the appropriate personnel. This position keeps the Nursing Staffing Office assigned shift RNM apprised of any and all staffing issues (callouts employee latenesss leave etc.). This position manages the development of administrative databases programs and systems as well as provision of clerical services to ensure efficiency and accuracy of day-to-day Hospital operations. This position supports the mission of the organization through active clerical participation with regards to clinical efforts to provide treatment in a forensic hospital environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Three years performing secretarial or clerical work involving typing duties.

Notes:

1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.

may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative Clerical or Office Services specialty codes in the Administrative Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:
  • Experience in data entry database management data tracking and reporting using tools such as Microsoft Office Adobe Acrobat Pro and Windows 10 or later version
  • Experience with written and verbal correspondence to assist staff or patients
  • Experience providing secreterial support to an official administrator or an administrative staff

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a keyboard of a personal computer at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required depending on the specific requirements of the position.
