Overview
Ensures quality safety and effective neurodiagnostic testing within the Neurodiagnostic Services department while supporting patient-centered care. Provides specialized oversight of daily Neurodiagnostic Services operations collaborates with physicians and leadership and ensures compliance with regulatory accreditation and organizational standards in accordance with Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). Embodies the Memorial Health Values of Safety Integrity Quality and Stewardship that support our mission and vision.

Qualifications
Education:
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree required.
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Neuroscience bachelors degree in respiratory therapy or health-related field preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) credential and/or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
Current Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (.T.) or Illinois Polysomnography License issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) required.
Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required within 45 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
Mandatory Reporter training required within 45 days of hire and maintained throughout employment in accordance with Illinois law.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience as a Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) is required.
Experience performing and scoring PSG HST EEG MSLT and PAP procedures required.
Clinical background in neurodiagnostic testing within a hospital or accredited sleep lab setting required.

Responsibilities
- Oversight and execution of daily Neurodiagnostic Services operations including scheduling patient followup and prioritization of testing based on patient acuity provider expectations and regulatory requirements
- Collaborates with Neurologists Medical Director Supervisor and Director to establish testing protocols review diagnostic findings and ensure compliance with Illinois regulations accreditation standards and best practices.
- Performs scores and reviews EEG PSG HST MSLT and sleep procedures including PAP settings and oxygen needs; provides preliminary diagnostic data and escalates critical findings to providers immediately.
- Ensures accurate completion of charges coding QA reports outcome surveys and maintenance of diagnostic databases in accordance with Illinois and organizational standards.
- Oversees equipment supplies and preventative maintenance activities; ensures compliance with manufacturer recommendations and communicates capital and operational needs to leadership.
- Supports process improvement initiatives system upgrades and implementation of new neurodiagnostic technologies in collaboration with leadership.
- . Serves as the departmental specialist responsible for accreditation readiness including American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) accreditation application and site visits every five (5) years ensuring compliance with all applicable standards.
- Ensures annual staff competency assessments facilitates onboarding and orientation of new employees and provides education related to new equipment procedures and practice changes.
- Develops reviews and updates departmental policies procedures and standard work documents; participates in Environment of Care (EOC) rounding and corrective action planning.
- Performs EEG and other neurodiagnostic procedures as needed and supports interdisciplinary education clinical rotations and departmental meetings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
