Role Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated team-oriented Engineering Manager to lead New Product Development & legacy sustainment initiatives. You will join an engineering organization that designs and delivers leading-edge communications products. As a lead member of the multi-channel radio management team you will have hands-on responsibility for leading the engineering team in electrical design integration testing operations and customer support.
Essential Functions:
People management responsibility for 7 electrical engineers and interns.
Create Electrical rough order of magnitude (ROM) and basis of estimate (BOE).
Serve as liaison to the Chief Engineering (CE) for respective products.
Resource planning scheduling financial reporting and project budget management.
Make design decisions and assess technical risks based on schedule and budget constraints.
Coordinate project integration with other radio subsystems (Mechanical Digital RF FPGA DSP firmware etc.).
Support operations to improve product cost quality yield and throughput.
Participate in product/process cost reduction and improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree with min. 9 years of related experience (or Graduate Degree with 7 years). 13 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Min. 2 years of experience in Engineering Project Management or leading engineering teams.
Hands-on experience with new product development in an electrical engineering capacity (RF Digital PWBA).
Ability to obtain a US security clearance (Essential).
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and complex schedules.
Experience with Configuration Management tools (e.g. Agile) and Requirements Management tools (e.g. DOORS).
Experience in DFX analysis for volume manufacturing.
Familiarity with INCOSE V product development model.
Proficiency with test equipment (Spectrum/Logic/Signal Analyzers).
Work Schedule: 9/80 (9 days work in 14 days every other Friday off). Travel: 10% or less. Relocation: Assistance available.
