The Position

Our Building and Facility Engineering department is responsible for the delivery of capital projects and engineering services that support our global manufacturing network including CMOs and affiliates. We provide discipline-focused technical leadership and accountability across single and multidisciplinary projects ensuring that our infrastructure meets the highest standards of safety reliability and efficiency within the European regulatory framework.

The Opportunity

  • Lead the engineering and specification of medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution systems in accordance with IEC/EN standards and local European regulations.

  • Take full ownership of critical infrastructure such as MCCs main distribution boards UPS systems and emergency standby generators (DIN/VDE compliance where applicable).

  • Perform technical load calculations short-circuit studies and selectivity analyses to ensure high availability and redundancy for European grid connections.

  • Direct the engineering and integration of ELV systems including structured cabling IT networks and security systems such as access control and CCTV.

  • Ensure system interoperability and cybersecurity alignment for all low-voltage and communication systems according to European data protection and safety norms.

  • Act as the technical lead for fire detection and alarm systems ensuring full compliance with EN 54 standards and local fire protection directives.

  • Manage the technical integration between fire alarm systems and fire suppression/sprinkler systems according to VdS or equivalent European guidelines.

  • Serve as the primary technical interface to local authorities (AHJ) notified bodies and insurance auditors for all electrical and life safety approvals.

  • Oversee external engineering firms and contractors throughout the design construction and commissioning phases (SAT/FAT) to ensure quality-compliant execution.

Who you are

You are a highly independent and proactive leader with a strong sense of accountability and ownership. You possess exceptional communication skills allowing you to align complex technical requirements with various stakeholders and you thrive in operationally demanding environments where analytical problem-solving is key. Your leadership style is characterized by the ability to give clear guidance to multidisciplinary teams while maintaining a focus on quality and reliability.

Further you possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering with 7 or more years of experience in industrial or pharmaceutical environments.

  • Deep technical expertise in European medium/low voltage power systems and EN-standard fire alarm engineering.

  • Solid understanding of European electrical and safety codes (IEC 60364 series EN 54 and local transposition such as VDE or NF).

  • Proven track record in managing complex sub-projects including risk management and stakeholder engagement in an international context.

  • Professional engineering registration or equivalent European certification (e.g. Eur Ing) and ideally PMP certification.

  • Willingness for significant travel (50-80%) and international assignments as required by business needs.
