Contract: 180 DaysSalary: Based on years of experience and educationLocation: Ewing School - 1701 Colegate Drive Marietta Ohio 45750Age Group: Students K-12QUALIFICATIONS: Certification: Ohio Pupil Services license/School Nurse Ohio Board of Nursing as a Registered NurseEducation: Minimum of Bachelors DegreeExperience: Minimum of two years experience in acute care nursing with focus on pediatric/family nursing desiredRESPONSIBILITIES:Have contemporary knowledge of all of the following:Physical and psychosocial development of all children physiology symptoms and symptoms treatment and nursing management in the school setting of common acute and chronic physical conditions of behavioral and learning disorders of chronic and disabling conditions of childhood and the nursing role state and local laws governing children with disabilities and their families community-based service providers chronically ill students and the rights of the role of the nurse with the child with a effect of a disability during childhood on the child and roles of members of the individualized educational program (IEP) multidisciplinary (MDT) or interdisciplinary (IDT) a full nursing appraisal of every child referred to the OVESC with special health needs including:A health and developmental history.A health and physical assessment including vision hearing nutritional development in the itinerant classroom or play-based school of supporting medical data as of all health with health care meetings present findings nursing diagnoses and recommendations and participate in the writing of the MFE IEP or other health appropriate assessments prior to periodic IEP reevaluation or upon teachers and implement a nursing plan of care for each child as nursing services (DNS) and activities based on the childs individual program plan to the and supervise the deliverance of Delegated Nursing Services by the teacher and to assure that the DNS are delivered in accordance with accepted nursing an orientation and training program for all teachers performing information teaching support and counseling to parents children family staff and community at large regarding health care and development as a case manager and advocate for the child with special health skilled nursing procedures as as a school-home liaison in child/family health home visits as necessary to further data collection planning implementation and/or evaluation for child required documentation and records of the childs assessment plan of care and progress/ as a resource person to school staff regarding health education and health education child staff and school health safety wellness and disease prevention through health education utilizing the Healthy People 2030 health objectives as a and apply the results of research findings to the development of policies and procedures in the OVESC to guidelines for child care program development professional development and to continued professional growth and development through education and national review and revise the job description and school nursing policies to maintain accordance with Standards of Care in staff meetings and serve on staff committees as other duties as assigned by the OVESC Superintendent.
