Job Summary
The Department of Neurology Division of Child Neurology is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant Professor to conduct research in pediatric neurology neurodevelopmental disorders and neurogenetic conditions. The priority is to partner with leading organizations in these disciplines at the University of North Carolina such as the Carolina Institute of Developmental Disabilities the Department of Pediatrics Division of Development Behavior and Learning and Division of Pediatric Genetics & Metabolism to conduct groundbreaking clinical trials advancing understanding and treatment of these conditions. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting edge translational applications in pediatric neurodevelopmental disabilities conducting research and providing clinical care. Ideal candidates will bring enthusiasm for pediatric neuroscience and enjoy working in a fast-moving and collaborative environment with involvement in conducting clinical trial visits neurological exams and lumbar punctures. Candidates must demonstrate a Doctorate-level training background experience in clinical research and publications related to child and adolescent health trauma community health and neurobehavioral development. Specific skills necessary include program planning evaluation and research methodologies including advanced statistical modeling approaches. Specific experience necessary includes working within interdisciplinary teams navigating complex environments that require collaboration high-level reliability and strategic addition to developing and maintaining a funded research portfolio ideal candidates will also be a licensed and credentialed clinical provider executing a clinical practice in pediatric neurology at the UNC Childrens Pediatric Neurology Clinic on Farrington Road in Chapel Hill and/or on Blue Ridge Road in Raleigh.
Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
The ideal candidate is a clinician-scientist holding a dual DNP -PhD or MD-PhD with preference give to clinician-scientists who also hold a Masters in Public Health. The candidate should have experience as both an advanced practice provider ( DNP ) and researcher (PhD) ideally with children with neurodevelopmental disorders and neuroimaging research.
